Achieving Carbon Neutrality in Constructed Spaces: Throughout a multi-week seminar, we explored speculative strategies for reducing the carbon impact of architectural environments, focusing on three key facets: implementing efficient carbon capture methods, transitioning to sustainable energy sources, and scrutinizing consumption behaviors. Our project centers on an in-depth analysis of current food consumption practices and associated carbon emissions within Barcelona's renowned La Boqueria market. The ultimate goal is to formulate a conceptual strategic design aimed at significantly mitigating the market's overall carbon footprint.
DECARBON STRATEGIES: LA BOQUERIA MARKET is a project developed in the Master in Advanced Architecture 01 - 2022-2023 (IAAC) by the student(s) Mihika NayakYasmin Jaskulski and Rafaela Müller during the course MAA01 22/23 Decarbonising Built Environments Seminar with Mireia Luzárraga.
